Abira’s artistic journey began early, inspired by watching her father draw and paint. Fueled by a childhood love for Disney animation, she earned a degree in Animation & Multimedia and was as a character designer and comic book illustrator before her creative path led her to children’s book illustration.  Creating stories rooted in diversity and representation is at the heart of her work. Abira has illustrated over 100 children’s books, collaborating with clients from the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Switzerland, and Ghana. She currently lives in London.
